New Cobra S3® and Cobra S3® Max Metals, Irons and Iron-Hybrid Sets Are Engineered Specifically for Women to Improve their Games

(February 24, 2011)- Cobra Golf announces the introduction of the Cobra S3 line of women’s clubs, including S3 and S3 Max Driver, S3 Max Fairway, S3 Irons Set, S3 Max Irons and Iron-Hybrid Set. This new complete family of women’s clubs is designed to perform powerfully and inspire confidence.

That’s quite a statement, considering Cobra has a long tradition of designing clubs that truly improve the games of women golfers. In 1985, it was the first manufacturer to offer graphite shafts on a complete line of woods – the Lady Cobra Woods. And while technology may change from year to year, a woman’s desire to play clubs that help inspire her confidence does not.  The 2011 Cobra line utilises lightweight shafts, smaller and softer grips, and flatter lies to create clubs that are light yet powerful. The new Cobra S3 line of women’s metals – consisting of the S3 Driver, S3 Max Driver and S3 Max Fairway for women – is all about powerful performance.

• COBRA S3^® DRIVER

The Cobra S3 Driver for women is geared towards low- and mid-handicap women golfers seeking superior distance and accuracy with ball flight optimisation. Made with a 6-4 titanium clubhead and precision milled face, the Cobra S3 Driver features E9 Face Technology™ that creates a 30% larger Sweet Zone™ and combines with Adjustable Flight Technology (AFT) to deliver consistently long distance and accuracy. The new taller, elliptical face shape is designed around typical ball impact patterns, resulting in increased ball speeds on off-centre hits.

The Cobra S3 Driver for women (SRP £249) is available in a 13.5° loft (right-handed only), with a Fujikura Blur TX004 women’s 49g shaft, and a Cobra/Golf Pride grip.

• COBRA S3^® MAX DRIVER

The Cobra S3 Max Driver for women is geared toward mid- to high-handicap women golfers who want maximum forgiveness and a high draw-biased ball flight. Just like the Cobra S3 Driver for women, the Cobra S3 Max Driver for women boasts a 6-4 titanium clubhead and precision milled face, and also features E9 Face Technology.  The Cobra S3 Max for women features an offset design that helps square the clubface at impact, therefore reducing slices.

The Cobra S3 Max Driver for women (SRP £219) is available in a 15° loft (in both right- and left-handed) with a 49g Fujikura Blur TX004 women’s shaft, and a Cobra/Golf Pride grip.

• COBRA S3^® MAX FAIRWAY

The Cobra S3 Max Fairway is designed for mid- to high-handicap women golfers who want maximum forgiveness and a high draw-biased ball flight. It features a new larger, hotter clubface and offset design that promotes draw-biased distance with forgiveness from the fairway.

The Cobra S3 Max Fairway for women (SRP £159) is made of 17-4 stainless steel and comes in 3, 5, 7 and 9 models (in both right- and left-handed). All lofts sport a 48g Fujikura Blur TX004 women’s shaft and a Cobra/Golf Pride grip.

Meanwhile, the Cobra S3 Max Iron-Hybrid Set for mid- and high-handicap women golfers is all about maximizing forgiveness. It makes a graceful transformation from hybrid to iron with reliable, consistent distance gapping. The 431 stainless steel irons have a low profile, which helps move the centre of gravity back low and deep for a higher ball flight, and a wide sole that lends stability to help straighten shots. The 17-4 stainless steel hybrid clubheads are more forgiving, due to their larger head size and railed soles.
